We had been up at Lane Head taking some pictures of Waxwing when we spotted this Bullfinch. Unfortunately we noticed its lower leg and feet.We have been informed that it is a disease named Papillomavirus . Itdidnt seem to spoil its appetite for the Rowan Berries

I had a Chaffinch with the same condition last winter Mike. Not sur if it survived or not or if the disease has fatal consequences once they get it (?)

I rang the BTO and they told me that the bird can sometimes loose their legs .or worse still can die. Horrible thing to have to live with
