Waxwing at Waring Green

Superb birds .Never get tired of looking at them. The trouble was that two Mistle and one Song Thrush didnt want them around and kept flushing them

Bullfinch with Papillomavirus

We had been up at Lane Head taking some pictures of Waxwing when we spotted this Bullfinch. Unfortunately we noticed its lower leg and feet.We have been informed that it is a disease named  Papillomavirus . Itdidnt seem to spoil its appetite for the Rowan Berries

Pallas's Warbler

This little fellow was on at Sammies Point.Unfortunately he was being "pursued " by about 20 birders who kept flushing him from bush to bush. If they had just stood still they  would have had better views of him.

Just a little mixture from the past month

Common Redpoll  Barred Warbler , Brambling Roe Deer  Golden Plover Grey Heron Kestrel and Mealy Redpoll

Waxwing on Warley Road

There was a flock of 20 circling around but unfortunately there were also two boys playing around the trees .Not the best combination

Rose coloured starling

This little beauty wouldnt let go of its berry. It had been through the full ringing process yet it still held on to the food

RoughLeggedBuzzard

What is usually a very rare bird at Spurn and one day we had four. Since then we have had quite a few more in singles . Cracking bird

Peregrine Falcon

After having a battle with two crows and getting drenched by the tide this is one lucky bird . After drying with a hair drier and nibbling on some bacon rashers it was released to fight again . I dont know whether the blood on its beak is from the crow or from Pauls finger
