Little Stint

On the Kilnsea Wetlands (thanks to RickS) who found it. My first decent picture of a Little Stint

Hawfinch

Theres not a lot to say.
Absolutely fab bird. Luckily there was no blood this time.

Just a few Flight shots

Snowbunting

First of the year on beach just below Sandy Beaches ,Stayed around foir a couple of days then off on its way

Osprey

Reported flying over the Humber just managed to get a couple of quick distance shots. Our first for the year

Great Snipe

Certainly the best bird of the week was the Great Snipe which for two days made its home Warrenby Cottage car parking area.

Showing no regard for the Birders around , it fed up throughout the day and became the most photographed bird of the week ( probably just behind the previous weeks Wryneck ).
Having only ever seen one before and at great distance in bad light this was a treat and a half.Whether there has ever been one quite as "friendly" I dont know , but I would think very hard to find

Unfortunately there had to be trouble. After being centre of attraction for two days , the dead body was found early morning , having been attacked and killed by either cat fox or other predator
Terrible end to a lovely bird , but nature will be nature

Caught and ringed and then shown in the  hand down at the Warren What can one say.
One of the most attractive birds we have in Britain. And what a comical little thing with the continual moving of the head from side to side .
