First time we had seen a neckband on a "Free Bird" , flying over the triangle along with two Pink Footed Geese

Just as night was closing in just managed to get this "picture" of a Red Rumped Swallow heading off towards Church Field . It was originally spotted from the Canal Hide

Little Bunting

Horrendous winds and rain didnt stop this little fellow from dropping in.Another lifer for us . Hoped it would be around the following day for the chance of a better picture but no luck , it was gone

A new Lifer for us with this Redflanked Bluetail.Originally we saw it flying around the Trap at the Point

Wood Chat Shrike at Sammies Point

The best bird of the last couple of weeks has to be the Woodchat Shrike at Sammies Point . Over 3 days we had fantastic views as it hawked around along with Redstart and Spotted Flycatcher . Superb

Ellusive Water Rail

Probably our most ellusive bird , waited 2 days and nothing, then out of the blue it gave us a 2 minute sighting.Well worth the wait.

Snow Bunting Influx

Periodically small numbers of Snow Buntings were coming in from Sammies down to the Point. They are quite accomodating and seem to tolerate people within 10 to 15 feet

Common and Jack Snipe

Common Snipe had been around for a couple of days and then the Jack Snipe came in. The head markings and length of bill separate the two .Fabulous markings and great for camouflage .

Rustic Bunting in Hand

Meadow Pipits

A flock of about 24 Meadow Pipit feeding around the Hide for about 2 or 3 days

Little Egret

Little Egret around the Hide area . One night there were 13 on the Humber .Definitely the most I have seen there .

Peewit

A single Lapwing around the Sammies Point area but quite a way off .

Lapland Bunting at Point

Lapland Bunting seen around the Point trap for quite a while and then fortunate to see it in the hand after trapping.

Goldfinch

Quite good numbers of Goldfinch around Beacon Lane preening and cleaning .Good numbers of Juveniles also among them
